Spiritually speaking, did you know that we owe our lives to the violent deaths of super-massive stars?

We wouldn't be alive if they hadn't created heavy elements such as carbon and oxygen; nor would our planet exist. Also, the iron in our blood is what destroyed them in the first place, which is a little eerie if you stop and think about it.

Don't they deserve just as much respect as Jesus?

Update:

Edit@Idlenessss: True point, super-massive may have been an exaggeration. 'Massive' would be more correct. And oxygen and carbon are not objectively heavy, but rather in relation to hydrogen and helium, which was more my point. However, I contend that iron is in a way responsible for the 'death' of these stars, since it is the lightest element which cannot release energy through nuclear fusion. Therefore, when stars resort to fusing iron into heavier elements, not enough outward pressure exists to prevent the collapse of the star, causing a supernova.

well some sllight corrections...first the star doesnt need to be all that massive...if it was you dont get heavy elements after the supernova you get a black hole. Second, carbon and oxygen are not very heavy elements...iron is more heavy but its not actually responsible for supernova.Finially, stars arent alive so they cant die.

the same star has to supernova about three times to get the heavy elements you see on earth.

Dear buddy difficult time or sorrow resulting in suffering create the predicament for you to search for the reality. One of the crucial deeply hidden explanations for struggling or difficult time is that you will be enjoying it. For example, falling ill can turn out to be a source of enjoyment if it will get you the concentration and care you might have been craving. Within the identical means as a seed has to rupture before a plant can develop and blossom, excessive suffering can rupture your ego and depart you open and liable to transformation. In Mahabharata, there is a gorgeous quote through Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas... She prays to Krishna, the enlightened grasp, ‘Oh Krishna! Let soreness and suffering come from all sides in my lifestyles. They will constantly ring a bell in me about you, my Lord.’ tough time resulting in suffering has colossal expertise to combine and develop into us. Start to witness your experiences with out judgment. See with clarity the place you are struggling at the gross and subtle stages. In case you are simply mindful, the difficult time itself can open your eyes to the unreality of suffering. It might probably train you how unnecessary it's to endure at all. That is what I name ‘fundamental suffering’ or imperative ‘difficult time’.! Whenever you learn your lesson via integral rough time , you will manage difficult time in a extra mature and gorgeous way. One essential thing we have to have an understanding of is that whilst soreness maybe inevitable, the suffering that comes from the ache isn't. For instance, should you get damage, there may be definitely soreness, but how a lot you decide upon to suffer from that suffering is quite your option. A small story: as soon as a man was once critically injured with more than one fractures and injuries. His buddy came to visit him at the clinic. He noticed the state of his injured buddy and didn’t comprehend what to claim. So he requested his buddy, ‘How are you feeling my buddy? I guess it ought to be painful with all these accidents. Do you suffer lots?’ the man answered, ‘no longer so much — simplest after I laugh.’ it's a question of attitude! Agony is inevitable, however suffering is your alternative. Struggling or hard time is not a state of existence. It is a state of intellect. It is not an event to your lifestyles. It is your response to an occasion. In no way curse the pain or the man or woman, inflicting the affliction on you. Rather, take the possibility to use it as a blessing, watch objectively, and cut the foundation of the soreness. Pain or difficult time generally is a nice teacher in the event you enable it to be. In case you appropriately research the reason and influence of suffering within you, it may possibly become the largest turning point for your existence. The master Bodhidharma says, ‘each struggling is a Buddha-seed.’ hard time and suffering can propel you to turn out to be a Buddha. He says, think grateful to struggling and agony since they devise the crisis so that you can seek for the truth. Be Blissful

Wow, I can't believe how many Christians think "that's absurd!". Such a belligerent contempt for science. Science is all well and good until it compromises their existential beliefs.
