Where to download YouTube videos?

It's my own video, I uploaded it using a phone but I need to edit it for class. I obviously couldn't edit it on my phone (super slow, took ages to upload the video in the first place.) So I need it in WMV format.

Thanks for reading.

Update:

Thanks, everyone. HAO, who would've guessed that media converter converted files? I feel like an idiot, I've been using it for years. Lordy. Also, I have the file on my computer (because you can download your own videos from youtube), it's just in mp4 format. Sadly, the media converter server is blocked today...

First, you said it's your own video, so it's fine to download it. But for anyone else reading this answer, I should tell you that downloading YouTube videos can be illegal if...

    a) you don't have permission from the video creator/uploader

    b) the video uses a license (such as the Standard YouTube License, which is what most videos have) that does not allow creating copies

    c) you are downloading copyrighted movies or music

Do this at your own risk!

Normally I would use keepvid.com, but for now I recommend to not use it, as the website requires Java. An exploit was found in Java a while back ago that allowed the site to do anything with your computer. I'm not saying keepvid.com would do that, but until there is a guaranteed fix for the exploit, it's best to stick to the safe side and try mediaconverter.org.

Media Converter can not only download YouTube videos, but can also convert files you already have on your computer. The downside is it's significantly slower than KeepVid and you are limited to 5 conversions/downloads per day.

So until the Java exploit is fixed, use Media Converter. It's slower, but safer. Once the Java exploit is fixed, you can go with KeepVid.

Source(s): Media Converter (Slower, but safer; does not use Java) http://www.mediaconverter.org/ KeepVid (Faster, but uses Java.) http://www.keepvid.com/
