Help ! I don't know what a thesis is, help me please ?

If you were to summarize all of your research into 1 sentence, than this is what the thesis would be.

Well a thesis is something your trying to prove...you need to be more specific about what exactly you are trying to prove about the difference between the two. the first sentence in you thesis can be the opening, 1 sentence about trench war, 1 about modern day war and the last sentence about how they are different

A thesis is the first sentence in an essay that ties together your topic and all the paragraphs together.

Example; if you are writing a topic about the effects of pollution in ocean, and you pick two things to discuss about the ocean for your essay ( lets say you choose the amount of trash people throw onto beaches and the oil spill of some boat in California) then your Thesis would combine the two topics together.

Example: "Pollution can effect the Ocean life through the amount of trash that people disregaurd on the beaches of southern California, and the amount of oil that was spilled from "some ship name" in 1985."

(Or something like that..) This wasnt a very good exampple, but i hope this gets the point across..
