Two year old will not sleep in his own bed...?

Hi everyone,

Having some trouble getting my little one to sleep in his own bed and was just after some advice.

He will go down about 9pm and still be in his room when I go to bed but then I wake up say about 3am, he is asleep in my bed.

When putting him to bed if he cries and keeps getting up I will keep putting him back in his room until he finally stays there but I do not know how to stop the sneaking in to my room when I am asleep.

Has anyone had a similar situation ?

How did you deal with it ?

Thanks in advance :)

Update:

How exactly am I being harsh ?

If I wake up in the early hours and he is in my bed I let him stay there but If I am still up and about when he wakes up I get him back to sleep and put him back in his bed.

What is so wrong with wanting him to sleep in his own bed all night ?

he needs you for security..try getting him a lovey or blanky to take with him make sure your scent is on it by sleeping with it ot putting it with your clothes to help him along..it really works

If he comes into your room and snuggles up next to you without you even noticing I can't see the problem.

Why keep putting him back in his bed over and over like that? Why not just stay with him until he falls asleep and make it pleasant instead of horrid.

You are being really harsh.Your son isn't harming anyone he just doesn't want to be lonely.

My grandson is 4 and does this he says he is afraid but we will lay down with him and he will get up and either crawl into his parents bed or grandparents bed,we will put him back but he will still get up and go into others beds..

I would pull out the baby monitor and use that for the sneaking in part and what your doing is all you can do. Good luck?
