KISS, I never thought they were great musicians and their songs weren't even that great, they were more of a gimmicky band if you ask me, plus I also can't stand Gene Simmons

KISS medium rock with imagery to sell it
Neil Young? Drones bad enough to make someone high on meth suicidal.
Springsteen whining? Ahhh.... No
Guns N' Roses? an awful lot of musical talent in that band... all that
talent WASTED by that characture of a rock star up at the MIC.
Jimi Hendrix? Great talent... when he wasn't stoned out of his mind.
The Eagles? Soft Rock with a rock image to sell it.
Jackson Brown? Saw him in concert once decent music if he didn't
spend what seemed like half the 2hr concert stage time on an Anti-Reagan rant.
Aerosmith? is actually not bad, not bad at all... if you understand that they are
a "rockier" version of reheated Rolling Stones,
Black Crowes? Bluesier version of rewarmed Rolling Stones. same caveat as above.
My Honest pick for this classification of "overrated"? Easy for me... Deep Purple.
No Ritchie Blackmore is NOT "God"
While Ritchie Blackmore THINKS he is god that is NOT the same thing...
Ritchie did have an amazing knack of picking talent to surround himself with
to make Ritchie Sound good... particularly the "Who's Who" roster of vocalists
that worked for Ritchie over the years, plus a few that turned him down once
and worked for him later and another that turned him down at least twice and
never worked for him (Paul Rodgers if you are wondering)

The Sex Pistols. I know they're not really classic rock but people say that they were such a great band and inspiration for modern punk music. Really their records all kinda sucked >_>

KISS wins hands down. They simply were not good enough to over come their cheap theatrics. That makes them numero uno on the overrated list.

Bruce Spingsteen ie mediocre at best. But because the music press dickrode him to death in the 70s he developed this godlike reputation and now since most people are sheep that cannot think for themselves he has a huge following.

Guns 'N Roses. Appetite for Destruction is a great album, but everything just went downhill after that.
