Can working out lead to increased aggression in women?

I am a 25 year old woman who has started doing cardio and lifting five to six days a week for the past month. Prior to this, I had very little experience with physical fitness.

I am a very level headed individual normally, however I have been experiencing insane mood swings at the drop of a hat. I am very easily angered, and the aggression lasts until I go to sleep at night. Sometimes I get depressed because I'm so angry which begins to wreak havoc on my self esteem. My progress weigh ins, which should be positive and a source of pride, fail to get me excited or happy. When I'm at the gym I feel fine - only occasionally do I feel like I have a short fuse when I think my workout buddy is being a butt-head. Usually on my drive home some bozo will cut me off or not use his blinker and it will set me off into a bad mood for the remainder of the day.

So what gives? I've been looking into this on Google, but it seems to be nearly impossible to find in women. Most women report that they will be crabby until they work out, then will be fine for the remainder of the day. I hate how I'm treating my loved ones right now.... What can I do to get this aggression in check?

    Evaluate your diet.

When you start working out, you change your chemistry and those changes can effect your mood. You should be eating proper portions of natural foods. Avoid processed foods (anything that comes in a box or a bag), soda and energy drinks. Drink more water. Drink nothing but water and green or black tea. Even fruit juice is processed and isn't really good for you.

Coffee is OK, but sweetener and creamer is not. If you like it black, fine, if not, green and black teas have enough caffeine for the most hardened junkies.

Get a book on tape to listen to in the car. It makes you calmer and more thoughtful. Music tends to "rile you up" and make you less tolerant while driving. Decide that you have nothing else to do but drive. IF you resent the time you spend in the car, you will be less tolerant. Decide that the other drivers have nothing to do with you. They don't know you and they don't care about you. So what about blinkers or no blinkers...you have something interesting to listen to, and better things to focus on.

If you are annoyed with the people in your life, address your feelings in a mature way. Say, "I don't want to do that exercise now, why don't we do something else now, and come back to that later?" Or whatever the issue is.
