Why is it that when I press the "DEL" button on my Aspire 5750 laptop, it deletes EVERYTHING?

If I press the "DEL" button, it will delete all text to the right of the cursor automatically, character by character (as if I'm holding the "DEL" button down). I have to press the "DEL" button a second time to stop it. Is there any setting where I can simply turn this off???

Pressing the "DEL" button should only delete one character at a time.

    Hi Dear

when you holding down DEL button it'll delete all characters on right of cursor but if you press it ONLY one time it'll delete ONLY one character.

so it's because of HOLDING DOWN the DEL button, Just !.

    Good Luck
