Gear issue with truck?
04 Dodge Dakota 70,000 miles. Lately, I have found if I drive the truck w/o letting it warm up a little once the truck moves and I stop, it won't go anymore. I put on the break, put into Park and then place back to Drive and the truck may go. So, basically, sometimes when first driven the gear won't take hold. Any suggestions?
Add fluid to it first? how much for the repair if suggested

Dodge is noted for having a weak automatic transmission and this could be the start of a major failure. I suggest you take to a transmission specialist before you cause additional damage. Good Luck

just change your transmission fluid before it eats itself up even worse. look for metal shavings in the fluid... it'll look "sparkly" then get out your checkbook.
