Problem playing YouTube videos?

My problem's a fairly common one - the video won't even begin to buffer, I just keep seeing that circle spinning forever and ever. Here's the things I've already done so you can rule them out:

- I've cleared my cache, cookies, and browser history, with the YouTube tab closed, and even rebooted after doing so. No change.

- Tried a different browser, for what it's worth. No change.

- Upgraded my flash player and rebooted. No change.

So yeah... >.< I'd be grateful if someone could help me with this. Thanks!

I've been having very slow buffering myself. Your problem could simply be the connection between your computer and Youtube, or it could be a problem with your computer'sconfiguration. If the video doesn't ever stop buffering and begin playing, then I would guess that it's a problem with your computer's configuration.

The first step I would take is to try a proxy to watch Youtube. This will try a different connection to Youtube, and it will probably use a different player. I've found that http://www.proxfree.com/youtube-proxy.php works especially well.

If the proxy works fine, then you can try out the html5 player for Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/html5 to see if it's the player that's giving you grief, or you can simply keep watching Youtube from the proxy of course :-). If it's not the player but the proxy works, then it's a connection problem specifically with Youtube and you should complain to your ISP specifically about your connection to Youtube. Good luck!

If you have a Mac / Apple Computer please post your question in the Apple Support Community and the community should answer the question rather quickly. I did have a similar problem months ago and this Community answer the question and I did the necessary repairs and that fixed my problems.
