How is a D and C done?? I am nervous. Anyone had one?
Im carrying a 12 week pregnancy with a blighted ovum that stopped growing at 6 weeks. My next doc appointment is in 3 weeks. Im afraid of getting an infection by waiting that long. Doc said I need a D and C but the appointment for that is 3 weeks away. Have I been carrying this so long that it will become infected? Can I ask for a pill that will make me miscarry? What do they do during D and C....do they put you to sleep? I dont want to be put to sleep that freaks me out

That's very odd...I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and had to get a D&C because of complications. The thing that sucked was I had to tell my boyfriend this while he was in jail...:( Anyway, I only had to wait a few days, so I'm not sure what the hell your doctor it's waiting three weeks for. He kind of sounds like an idiot..Regardless, yes, you go to sleep. You won't remember a thing. They'll put you on meds, so you won't feel any pain afterwards. I only needed one day off at work, then I was fine. My doctor said my surgery went well and there were no complications, but they can occasionally happen. I'm so sorry about this. I hope you'll be alright, dear.
