Is it safe to put a frozen chicken in a pot of water and let it come to a boil and cook it as is for chicken and dumplings?

Yup, i did it just like that the other day just wait till the water temp is about 170 before you put the chicken in, and you can use the water for the broth

Yes, it can be done, but unless in a slow cooker.

I found it to be a bit tuff, and not as tasty... if done on top of the stove..

Best to cook the chicken, then let it cook, then skin, cut it up, then

add back to the broth .. once it comes to a boil add the dumplings..

    good luck..

Yes, absolutely safe. You'll have to simmer it for a longer time, up to 2 hours. Chicken freezes so densely inside that an hour may not even begin to melt it. But, the result will be wonderful.
