Help in buying a guitar?

I've never played the guitar before so I want a guitar that's easy to learn with. I want a guitar that's not only for beginners but even for experts cuz I will be keeping my first guitar with me for a long time as I will be buying a really expensive one for around 250-300 pounds. It would be great if you could suggest a few guitar brands that fit in with the type I want. Thank you.

First, are you planning to get an acoustic guitar or an electric?

    Acoustic:

Seagull guitars are highly recommended for beginners, but also they're just a great guitar for anyone of any skill level. And they sound beautiful. They can be a bit pricey, but you will get a lot of use out of it. A lot. This would be my first choice.

Fenders, such as the DG-8S and the CD-60, are also great beginner guitars. They are typically less expensive, but are really more for just beginners, so you'll probably only play these for a few years. So a Fender, probably isn't what you're looking for.

    Electric:

For a first electric guitar I would definitely go with a Fender or Gibson.

Fender: Telecaster, Stratocaster. Gibson: Epiphone, Les Paul.

These four types are very basic, and easy to learn with, but are played by even the most advanced guitarists as well.
