laptop hard drive swap question?
recently my asus laptop shorted out (power) so it will no longer take charge and no way to charge my battery so heres what im thinking . im going to buy the same model and install my previous hard drive into the new machine my question is this my current laptop has windows 7 ultimate the new machine has windows vista. so with switching harddrives does it automatically switch operating systems or do i have to install windows 7 onto the new machine? if i do need to install windows 7 shouldnt i do it before switching harddrives? thanks

if its the EXACT same model all you have to do is swap and it will go back like your old laptop

just make sure the right type of hd is being changed sata vs ide
