*Ivy League Haircut* A barber or hair stylist?

The haircut in that photo is sort of borderline crew cut/ivy league. In any event both a crew cut and an ivy league are regular barber shop styles...

... so a good barber should be able to cut a crew or ivy; the quality of the taper and overall haircut will be superior to that done by most stylists. Whether barber or stylist, go to one that is known to be good with an ivy or crew and don't rely on words to describe the style of ivy or crew as the style can be fairly widely interpreted. Use photos to describe the desired style of ivy league.

Some barbers consider that all crew cuts should have a flat top, so it is best to not rely on words alone for even a widely recognized style like a crew cut.

Search the internet for images of soccer stars Steven Gerrard and Lukas Podolski for examples of the ivy league and crew cut style. A minute dab of control wax aka butch wax will keep the hair looking well groomed at crew cut and ivy league length. A butch comb also helps with grooming the short pomp styles- the small, flat, plastic, oval, pocket brushes that one finger fits through and barbers sell for about a dollar. A boar bristle military brush is usually available for a few dollars and while too large for a guy to carry in his pocket, is nice to have at home.

Ivy League Haircut

I am over 80 and had a father in-law a barber and an uncle but its impossible to day to find a barber that can cut hair the way you want it,, I have tried many on ivy league or Princeton cut or collegiate and they never get it. They only know what they were taught in school so hard press to find that old of a barber that was keeping up to date o remembers how the styles were in the days of Cary Grant, Steve McQueen or Rock Hudson Gary Cooper with the clean cut on the back and sides.

Some barbers are really good and.can cut really good styles, but some just know how to cut or trim and not style that well. Stylists can sometimes be expensive though. You need.to just find out who's in your area and how much they charge.

Go on YouTube and search some hair tutorial videos for whatever styles you want. They will show you step by step.

I have short tresses for the first time since I actually was 10 years old and We really like it but I overlook my long curly locks so Now i'm growing it back out!

For me, short. an individual see, hair like jared leto's seem too effortless and sometimes even slimy. Shortcuts are more fun to perform with and some sttles look much better on them.
