how do I hint to this guy that I like him?

This guy is my best friend! We've been friends for 2 years, and this year we've gotten a ton closer. I found out from our mutual best friend that he's going to ask me to prom and that he likes me. I've liked him for a while, but never told anyone because I was afraid I would ruin our friendship. But now that I know he likes me, I want to kinda let him know that I like him back. I can't just tell him because of the cultural standards of where I live (the guy is always suppose to make the first move, etc). So my only option is to give him hints that I like him back. How can I show him how I feel, without coming on too strong or him just letting it slide as a best friend thing?

No problem.  I'm a guy, so I speak guy-language, and I'll help you out.

So let's recap:  You're crazy about this guy and want to let him know, but can't just blurt it out, right?  Here is what you need to do, and do it precisely as it's written...

Rip a fire extinguisher off the wall and write "I love you, you moron" on it and sign your name.  Then walk up to him, smash him over the noggin with it, and drop it in his lap while he's on the floor.  If time permits, rip his shirt off and cover his chest & face with lipstick kiss-marks.  

I'm serious, to a guy, that IS being subtle.  And after you do all that, don't be surprised if he just gives you a dumb look and asks if you're trying to tell him something.  He's a guy, and guys are notoriously dense when it comes to taking hints.  

You think I'm kidding, but I'm not.  I'm not even... well maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but only a little.  He's a guy, and guys don't get hints no matter how obvious you make them.  One more time, and say it with me, guys don't get hints.

Now, does my idiotic little rant give you any ideas on how to proceed?  Remember, I was only exaggerating a little.

I would never tell a guy either that I like him. Its his job to do so. Neway, I would tell him he looks great everytime I see him. Probably call him every while and say " Hey I miss talking to u " . And also I can say stuff like, " I want to tell u something personal about me, because ur the only person that I trust int he world". Thank him alot for anything. And always try to compliment him.. looks, behaviors..anything. Guys like that.

Just ask him if he has a crush on some one, and who it is. He is your best friend he can't lie to you. If he lies say that you know he is lying and if he tells you the truth then tell him you like him. Boom. Instant couple, and you guys kiss. You are welcome
