Observed increas in global temps. are caused by elevated levels of carbon dioxide. hypothesis, theory, or law?
I am having trouble distinguishing between hypothesis, theory, and law. My answer to this question would be that it is a hypothesis because it is something that mny scientists do not agree on and still needs to have studies done on it. It is not a hypothesis because it has been studied and it is a compilation of facts but I don't think it is a law either because it is not accepted as a concrete truth without exceptions. Is this correct or am I still not getting it?
When it says my answer would say it is a hypothesis I meant to write that my answer is that it would be a theory. I think it is not a hypothesis or a law.

Saying that something is a hypothesis does not mean that people don't agree with it. A hypothesis is something that can be tested out using the scientific method. Can you test out whether elevated levels of carbon dioxide increase temperature?
