I personally think that in many different professions, they have their own different kind of professionalism , so it's rather hard to compare one to another.

For like police, I do not see a whole lot of professionalism in the cops that always go to the same restaurant that I often go to. They are ridiculously chilled. I also do not see any professionalism in cops at some other country. That cop just randomly asked a kid what's in a shoe box in a plastic bag with the logo of the store the kid came out of. Like, does this professional cop have any sense of common sense?

I linked a link of different people's opinion on professionalism. By those standards, it depends on the PERSON, not the occupation. Even the crappiest job can be done in the most professional way demonstrating the highest level of professionalism one can ask for. Any kind of occupation have examples of people where they show little professionalism.

Example using University from the first answerer:

One of my old professor is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair Research. He is very nice but also very serious about his job. Being Associate Chair Research, he is extremely busy but he is still very responsible and try to tend to everything. Basically, he tries to excel at everything he does and puts student and research above all.

Then there is this other professor, who is a Professor and that's it. He is nice but super laid back and don't care about anything. He only strictly do what's inside the syllabus that he set. Anything outside of it, he simply says that's not in the scope of the course and ignores it.

Then there are the T.A., some are very professional, some are very laid back, some are very bias. I've been a T.A. and had friends that were a T.A. as well. Every time I mark something, I make a rubric and follow it for every assignment/test/quiz. After I finish it, I go through every single one again, at least once, to see if there are any mistakes. As for one of my friend, she is "too busy" and ask other people (like her bf or sister) to mark it with the solution manual.

Well, that's my opinion on professionalism. Sorry that I didn't exactly answer your question.

Flight Attendants, or work related to travel. Don't know why I think that, but they always seem so well dressed and hygienic.
