Q
Do you believe morality is objective or subjective?
I personally believe it is subjective to the individual case. For instance, I believe there are circumstances under which it is acceptable to lie, to kill, etc. Thus I do not believe in sin. I believe sin is nothing more than a label that theists apply to things that they think are taboo, and that it isn't rooted in reality or a true moral stance on anything.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy can't people just say "I don't know" and quit fillin in the blanks with myths?
Seriously, when it comes to questions that we don't know the answers to, is it not wiser to just admit that we don't know, vice accepting somebody's made up, bullsh*t, unsubstantiated religious crap? Why are people so illogical?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoDo you ever feel like your wants and desires in life are just distractions?
I honestly think that a lot of the things in life that I want and desire are distracting me from something else that I'm supposed to be doing. For example, my desire for a woman, my desire to do better and get ahead in my job, my desire to socialize with people and fit into society, etc., I feel like these are all vain distractions from something else that I'm supposed to be doing with my life, like to spend time and energy in pursuit of these goals is a waste. How weird is that?
10 AnswersPhilosophy8 years agoTheists, what do you have to say about the 8 Marines who just died?
They died in a training accident. So what, did god just plan for their lives to be ended in a brief instant by a faulty round of ammunition? One of them was a PFC, which means he had barely even been a Marine for 2 minutes when his life abruptly came to an end.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agojews/christians/muslims: How can you say it's acceptable to have doubts and ask questions if...?
I don't understand how you can say it's okay to question the faith, but then criticize the HUUUUGE numbers of people who, instead of having their doubts reassured for whatever reason and returning to the faith with a clearer understanding or whatever, go the other route and LEAVE the faith. That's not fair, you're telling people it's "okay" to be inquisitive (as if there was something wrong with that to begin with, BAH!) and then telling them they're wrong for happening to come to a different logical conclusion than you did. You might as well just say it's wrong to question the faith to begin with if it's gonna lead so many people "astray".
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy the hell do y'all think Jesus was white??? lol?
And even out of all of you who would answer "I don't, I know that he's not white," you have to admit, when you think of Jesus in your head, he's a tall white guy, isn't he? Isn't that interesting?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoHow many of you out there just say "I don't know" instead of "I know that x is true"?
So many people seem to be completely dead set in their believing that there is no possibility of their being a god at all, and at the other end of it you have all the people who are dead set in their faith in christianity, islam, judaism, buddhism, hinduism, etc. I honestly don't have enough information to decide one way or the other what I believe, and I wonder how many people feel the same
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhich occupation do you think has the highest level of professionalism, other than military?
I'm *in* the military so don't even start with that crap lol
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment8 years agoSafest kind of 5.56/.223 for home defense/reduce over-penetration?
Just curious as to the best kind of 5.56/.223 rounds to use for home defense that won't over-penetrate and go through walls. I'm assuming it would be a hollow point/open tip variant?
7 AnswersMilitary8 years agoWhy are you all making the gun debate about "conservative" and "liberal" politics?
There should be nothing political about it. It's part of our bill of RIGHTS and should be upheld to the context of the document, which clearly calls for sufficient and adequate weaponry to be on par with modern militaries. If you disagree with that, then your quarrel is with the CONSTITUTION ITSELF, so address that. Stop trying to put duct-tape gun bans that limit the provisions of the document and start petitioning for a NEW AMENDMENT to REVISE THE DOCUMENT. It has nothing to do with right wing or left wing, it's the constitution and the foundation of the security of our United States. It's about our RIGHTS.
9 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhy do some girls who have great looks, personality, etc sleep around like ho's?
I don't get it, do they sleep around because they think no guy will love them? I'm talkin girls who have plenty going for them, they're smart, funny, gorgeous, etc. But they seem fine with get f**ked and chucked all the time and don't pursue actual relationships. What the hell???? I mean it goes for guys too but most of the guys I know who casually f**k are real pr**ks and a$$holes, like you can tell they're just in it for themselves or they have major issues, but some girls are just great personality-wise and then I'm so confused when they give it up so easily???
3 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoGirls' opinions of guys' hair? Head, arms and legs, pubes, etc?
I'm a 21 year old guy and I'm not crazy hairy, but I do have a pretty good deal of hair on my legs, arms, on top of my feet and hands, and yes my *** lol. My hair's pretty thick and very straight. I keep it very clean and I've been told by many people that it's really soft. Girls love to touch the hair on my head, sometimes they start running their fingers through it lol. I was just wondering what was the females' general opinion of hair in general, and more specifically on a man's legs, that's where mine is most noticeable lol
2 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoExactly who or what has led you to believe that the second amendment has anything to do with hunting?
I understand the language used in the constitution isn't exactly modern, but I still see no excuse for people to completely misconstrue the meaning of the second amendment. It says *right there* that we have the right to bear arms so that we can maintain a militia for the purpose of defending our freedoms. If you disagree with that FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT, then you can either leave the US or take legal measures to ACTUALLY CHANGE our rights as American citizens. In the mean time, quit lying and spreading LIES.
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoDid she/Does she like me or is she just flirtatious?
I met this girl some months ago. I only really got to be around her for about a month before I had to go away for 4 months and that 4 months is almost up. First off she is this adorable petite girl and I find her absolutely GORGEOUS, I would have gotten with her if I hadn't been leaving for months, I didn't want to get with her and then just leave, I feel like that would have been ****** up. Anyway the first contact me and her had was with a group of friends, she took my phone and ran off just as like playing around. Eventually she gave it back lol. The next time was with friends again. One of my guy friends was acting kinda gay just to be funny and he put his hands on my hips. A minute later when she came by she ended up asking what he did and I showed her by putting my hands around her waist (Mmmmmm :) ). Since then she has been to my place to watch movies and apparently been comfortable enough to pass out and take a nap in my bed lol. Sometimes in a social setting on a couch or in a car she would put her legs across my lap and I'd kinda rest my hands on her lower thighs and rub them a little bit and she never seemed to mind. Also sometimes she would bite me and we would tickle each other. You're probably thinking "Duh, she likes you!" but keep in mind she's a pretty outgoing girl, far from shy, and she seems pretty comfortable around guys, NOT like a ho or anything, just really playful. And I feel crazy about this girl but you have to understand I was really hesitant to start anything official and then up and leave her. So now I'll be back home by the end of this month and I don't really know how to touch base with her again, it frustrates me so much, I wanna tell her I'm sorry I was so hesitant before and I never should have left without kissing her goodbye, I just have so much I wanna say to her and I don't know how or when to say it, or if it would even be appropriate anymore. We've been texting since I left but I can't tell how she feels about me that way.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating8 years agoAll civilians, a moment of your time please?
Look, I understand that some of you out there WORSHIP the US military and put us on a pedestal. I also understand that some of you absolutely LOATHE military members and think far too lowly of all of us. PLEASE don't allow yourself to fall into these two very narrow ends of the spectrum, the military is a very broad organization with all types of people just like the civilian world. Some of us are cool people, some of us are a- holes. We are not gods, and we are not demons. We are human just like YOU. I personally would appreciate it if y'all could please make that extra effort to judge us on an individual basis just like anybody else. I HATE it when myself or one of my friends is judged negatively by people back home because of stupid stereotypes. It really sucks when we can't just be social with people when we're on leave or libbo or whatever just because they harbor such negative sentiment for us. I am not cocky. I do not act like I'm hot "excrement" out in town. I do not kill or maim for pleasure. I am not a homophobe. On the flip side of that, I personally haven't done anything remarkable either. I haven't saved anyone's life and I really haven't done anything to ahem "safeguard American freedom" or whatever they say.
So yeah, please remember we were civilians before we joined and are still very much individual humans. Thank you for your time.
2 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups9 years agoJesus Christ, some of yall and the crap you post on here, it is just so STUPID....?
Some of yall, if your questions are legitimate and serious, I have a genuine fear of what the future holds for humanity. Yall, I mean you make me laugh sometimes, but still it's unbelievable the superficial CRAP that yall preoccupy yourselves with.
I mean damn, it's one thing to jokingly post some random crap, but some of yall's SERIOUS questions are RIDICULOUS!
7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture9 years agoHow to *politely* tell this guy he's not my friend and to quit tryin to hook me up with fat nasty chicks?
So this guy at my job, he thinks I'm just his best freakin buddy. He even wanted me to be the best man at his wedding and be his kid's godfather if he ever has one. He's, quite frankly, an annoying, hypocritical, immature sack of excrement. He married this fat chick after knowing her for a whopping MONTH, and he's just such a clueless idiot. As we've already established, he's into fatties and one day after I have been avoiding this dude for like months, he comes out of the blue and is like "Hey I got you a date to the Christmas party". I thought he was joking, but sure enough he brings his fat-*** wife and her fat, nasty-*** cousin from freakin south central, block-rollin cholo land or whatever and expects me to be into it. It was awkward as s**t and I tried in my own way to be subtle and be like "Yo, I thought you were kidding, this is completely uncalled for". So then later after this weird encounter, a few days later he's like "Why haven't you called her yet?" And I'm like "Man I'm not gonna make this girl think I like her when I don't"
So, what I need advice with now, is how do I make it clear to this guy that 1) I DO NOT like the same kind of "plus size" girls as him, 2) I DO NOT need nor want his help with ANYthing in life whatsoever, and 3) I am NOT his best buddy like he thinks I am?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating9 years agoDreams where I kill people really violently?
So usually the dreams I do remember having involve me killing people in pretty violent ways. I had a dream that John Travolta's character from the Punisher was chasing my little brother in circles around the outside of the house from the movie Cheaper by the Dozen and I shot him with a P08 Luger. I've had quite a few dreams where I shank the ever-loving CRAP out of people like multiple times. I've had dreams where I kick in doors and shoot the s**t out of people with shotguns and stuff. And the thing is, these dreams always leave me feeling absolutely ECSTATIC. I'm just curious as to yall's thoughts on this. I am absolutely NOT a violent person in real life.
