Walk away and tell them to contact me when they get things sorted, I will not take sides. I might agree with one of them but it's usually the one that is stuck in the middle that gets the raw deal in the end..

.....a pretty good question I believe. It is a difficult task in taking an opinion or to go for one side support. Therefore, to be honest and to give a fair judgment, its far better to involve both of them to be good friends like as before and then you join with them to be honest and good friends forever. Good friendship is far better than getting separated and involving into unwanted problems.
.....Must always find a better solution to solve a problem more than separating a friendship which will bring no profits at the end. (I like this question very much, useful and profitable)

I would never take sides. I would talk to them both and try to get them to see the other person's point of view. I would try to bring them together and make them work out the issue because fights are a stupid thing and it's not worth losing a friendship over.

I've been throw under this bus too many times.
I tell them that it's not my fight and I don't want any place in their drama but I hope that they resolve their issues soon. If one of them wants to walk away cuz I chose to remain friends with the other person then that's their issue. most realize later how childish they were being.

Not to speak again is their timely decision which is not correct in friendship. I will give them offer that ishall be friend of both and not one so if you need me you have to forgive each other and be a friend as were earlier. This will do work if not I shall ignore both of them. Thanks.

Depends on the argument and if I think one of them was in the right and the other was in the wrong.

If they are truly my good friends, they wouldn't try to get me involved in their squabbles. They would respect my unspoken desire to be friends with both.
Have a Nice Day.

Try to explain to each of them that you are not going to take sides. You may very well lose them both.

I had this happen before. I just gave them a break and asked them to talk to them again and try to reason with them.
