What do some Christians mean by "spirituality"?
They seem to think that they have a monopoly on the use of the word and, presumably, reason that atheists and others cannot experience the joys of life. What is it in their mindset that causes this?

Their is no definitive meaning of the word.
For me it just means energy that can be found in all life...........

Spirituality is a connection with God or people that have passed. True Christians do not believe that atheists cannot experience the joys of life! All Christians forgive and accept everyone's religion!

Why not ask them what they mean when you hear them say it?
All people can experience joy but not everyone is spiritual. Two different things.

i think most christian mean that when they say im spiritual it just means that they don't go to church, an actually that is a good thing, because Judgment begins at the house of God and the house of God is the churches. im just paraphrasing it.
