Why do some Christians think that only they have morals?
It's a regular occurrence in "Religion and Spirituality" Who teaches them this nonsense?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat do some Christians mean by "spirituality"?
They seem to think that they have a monopoly on the use of the word and, presumably, reason that atheists and others cannot experience the joys of life. What is it in their mindset that causes this?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoHow can I overcome dreadful insomnia?
I am a retired Registered Nurse. For 40 years I have worked shifts. For the last four I worked 3 11 hour shifts. Towards the end I sought help from the local medical practise and was given Zoplicone tablets. I retired 2 years ago and am otherwise reasonably fit although I do suffer from well controlled hypertension. I am halfway through a self imposed weight reduction regime and anticipate a loss of 20 Kg. The GP will only offer me more Zoplicone which I do not want. Can anyone suggest an alternative answer to my problem?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases8 years agoGun lobby supporters: If you had a shootout with government forces who would win?
A much used cliche' from people like yourselves is that you need to protect yourselves from the government. But if you had to do so who do you realistically think would win? I don't know why you can't admit that you just like killing things?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoBlessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth or "The law of the Yukon" ?
Which of these statements do you think is the most likely to effect mankind? The "Law of the Yukon" is a poem written by Robert W. Service published in 1907. The final verse is "This is the law of the Yukon, that only the Strong shall survive; That surely the weak shall perish, and only the Fit survive.
Dissolute, damned and despairful, crippled and palsied and slain,
This is the Will of the Yukon,-Lo! howshe makes it plain!
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoFellow atheists. What's your opinion of the American Families Association?
I came across this group by accident. I'm British with an American based daughter who lives in Raleigh NC. I know there are religious extremists in the UAS but I didn't realise there were bigots of that standing in the USA. They can be found at: www.afa.net

2 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoA Rotherham couple have their 3 foster children removed because they support UKIP. Is this invert racism?
Because the children are not ethnically white Rotherham social services have removed them from their care, claiming that UKIP is a "Racist Party". I think the racism exists only in the minds of the social workers. Opinions please. Foot note - I am not a member of UKIP, nor do I support their cause.
9 AnswersGovernment8 years agoShould the UK opt out of the European Court of human 'wrongs'?
We have been 'left footed' yet again by by the law lords, both the homegrown variety and EU stalwarts. Why can't WE (the British people) make decisions on our own behalf?
6 AnswersGovernment9 years agoWhy do some 'gay' men talk with a lisp? Is it an affectation, or is there a physiological reason?
I deny any homophobia. As with other groups of humanity I like those people that I like and I don't like those that I don't like, irrespective of race, sexual orientation or which football team they support. I' just curious. Thanks in advance for your response.
6 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoAmericans. If you could reform the constitution how would you do it. And why?
I'm British and although your constitution has much to recommend it. I find it, well, clumsy. I'm bipartisan and after all it's your nation.
2 AnswersPolitics9 years agoScotland Nicola Sturgeon wants us to spend our way out of recession. Do you agree with this move?
She wants the nation to borrow even more money to get us out of debt. It's a sort of never never loan racket. Do we really want the government to do this?
9 AnswersGovernment9 years agoDo you think Christians will survive another Century?

19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoCan anyone give me the low down on the Bank of America?
I'm British. My daughter is a US citizen and is having problems with BOA who have 'lost' her mortgage payment. They admit the loss but are insisting that she provides them with a further payment and are threatening to foreclose on her. Surely this is incorrect?
1 AnswerCorporations9 years agoUK. If I emigrate to the USA will I still keep my state pension(s)?
My wife and myself are both pensioners. Our daughter wants us to emigrate to the USA in the next couple of years. I currently receive the state pension plus a military pension and an NHS pension. My wife has disability living allowance and will be eligible for the state pension in the next two years. Any straight answers please.?
4 AnswersImmigration9 years agoAre the Muslim men in turmoil because they are afraid of female emancipation?
It could be that fanatical Mullhas are latching on to the threat of female equality in an effort to achieve more power for themselves. Consider how Christian women were treated in the early 19th century. Is this where many many Muslim nations are today?
9 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups9 years agoDoes anyone know what "PC unleashed" is about?
It has appeared on my screen this morning and I can't get rid of it.
1 AnswerPC9 years agoTheists/atheists what do you make of this question by Jean-Paul Sartre?
"What do we mean by saying that existence precedes essence? We mean that man first of all exists, encounters himself, surges up in the world - and defines himself afterwards...there is no human nature because there is no God to have a conception of it....man is nothing else but what he makes of himself." I find it a little heavy going and although I agree with most of it I think there is more to existence than living apart from others. What do you think?
