Is it worth it to upgrade my MacBook Pro to an iMac?
I'm currently running a 2011 re-furbished MacBook Pro. I've had it about a year now and have never had a problem. I love it. My concern is mostly hardware related. I do a lot of work in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro X. So I need to room to keep and run everything efficiently and have space for files. The new iMac has the Fusion Drive option that sounds appealing, but is it right for me? Would it be worth the upgrade? Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

2 things.
If all you are after is storage space and you are happy with the performance of your macbook, then look at an external drive connected by thunderbolt if you have it or otherwise firewire 800.
Put all your files on that drive.
However if you want maximium performance, then you cannot go past the top of the range 27" iMac.
Have a look at the specs below.
Apart from the large capacity fusion drive, you can configure a graphics card with up to 2 GB of video memeory and up to 32GB of RAM.
Best,
