Hi fellow seniors, how often do you listen to the radio these days?

I wonder how many of you still like to listen to the radio and do you actually listen through a digital (DAB) set?

Maybe you play it through your TV or computer or whilst driving in your car?

My DAB radio is on during the morning whilst I'm pottering around the house and it's sometimes on in the car as long as it's not me who's driving.

So friends do you still listen to the radio or wireless as my neighbour still likes to call it, or maybe you prefer other media options ?

Monday-Friday, in the morns, I listen to our local station to hear the weather report & road conditions.

Saturday & Sunday I listen to NPR weekend programs like Car Talk, Prairie Home Companion, & all the fun shows. But I run errands on the weekend, so I often miss some of the programs.

During the week--on my slow-work weeks--I stream the NPR shows I missed on the weekend.

When listening to NPR in the house, I have to stream it via my laptop as the reception on the radio is terrible here.

I also often listen to the radio while cleaning my clients' house.

My radio is on 20/7. Not only are there news programs there are informational speakers and talk shows (with callers) so I listen a lot either by battery radio or plugged into the wall. I don't drive much but when I do then the music station plays.

I don't know what DAB is, and i don't listen to the radio thru my TV or computer or wireless.

Yes, I have always been an avid radio fan, Lily.

Radio 4 is one of my favourites with News, history,

    comedy and plays.

I listen to BBC Three Counties radio which covers

    Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

I have a DAB Pure radio in the living room, clock

radio by the bed, and a trusty Roberts rambler in

    the kitchen.

I sometimes listen on the internet, and have recently

spent (wasted) £10 on a USB Internet Worldwide

Radio and TV player, which brings in radio from

Hawaii and such exotic places, but as the instructions

all appear in Chinese on the screen it is somewhat hit

and miss, even when I try and use translator.

So yes, I love the radio, still buy The Radio Times too!

Yes, we have two DAB radios in the house; we listen to Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra much much more than any other station.

While I was still at work, I would listen to Radio 3 and Classic FM as well in the car on my journeys to and from work- on an FM radio.

I watch some TV, I'm afraid; watching the Jeremy Kyle show (just a few seconds) gives me delusions of adquacy,

I always have the radio on in the car. I like NPR or a music station that plays 50s/60s/70s music. I don't listen as much when I am in the house. I usually have the TV on, even if I'm not watching it. When I go out, I always leave the radio music on for the dog - LOL. Also, I use a transistor radio and earphone when I'm walking the dog.

Used to listen to Radio 4 a lot, Lily, but nowadays spend most time watching programmes on TV (too many to follow) and on the computer. A News Junkie, I spend a lot of time following BBC, Sky, ITV, RT and AlJazeera now they're 24/7. I don't drive any longer and if I'm just pottering about the house, I usually put on a CD.

For some reason I can't abide those radio music stations - especially in the morning, but mainly because of the inane witterings of 'disc jockeys' - ugh !!!

Every night I listen to an AM station that is all comedy. It has about 2 to 4 minute sets of each comedian. I usually fall asleep to it. It's a nice way to go to sleep, laughing. I'm not familiar with the DAB. My radio is an old style radio, clock, alarm by the bed.

When I'm doing the housework, I have the radio on through my TV.

When I'm doing the ironing (hateful job) in the kitchen, I listen to the DAB set I have there. It helps me through the ironing, which I loathe doing.

Any time I'm driving, I always have the radio on too or I sometimes insert a CD.

I love listening to the radio. I still listen to the Archers on radio 4 , i like radio 3 and BBC world service.

I have still got an old wireless with AM , VHF, UHF, MW but it does not have FM as it is really old and works perfectly. I do have a couple of dab radios and my wife listens to one of them most of the time when she is busy. I don't watch much television as i can't stand celebrity culture or mindless programmes that do not inspire me. We also don't read newspapers as we can't stand all the media hyper fear mongering and political nonsense. The thing with radio is that it does not seem bias to what it is transmitting.

I listen to satellite radio when I drive, 50s on 5 and 60s on 6.

I rarely listen to AM radio anymore, too many wackos and some of them don't report or speak the truth.
