need help with 60th birthday party plans?
my moms 60th birthday is coming up in June. I would like to make her a big surprise birthday party. The theme i have decided on is "new orleans/bourbon street/mardi gras". i decided on this because every year mymom and my step dad would go there but in october my step dad passed away and she isnt able to go back to new orleans so i thought i would bring new orleans to her. i would like the party to have about 30 to 50 guests max. i would like it to be in a reception hall that i can decorate. i am wondering what you all think would be good decorations (how to set the room, food, etc for the party. i would like some new ideas so that is why im asking you guys. id greatly appreciate any help.

good day,
a party of this size will run you least $2000. plus-after renting the hall,food ,invites, music,clean up.and that's doing everything your self. do you have friends that can help? $4000. plus if you hire help and catering. 30 plus years in event planning....also New Orleans was something special for your parents....and will bring back memories about their life together and Oct was only a couple of months away......
Perhaps another theme-let your Mom and step dad have this Memory...what about a 50 or 60's theme, great music, old photos, her old school colors and photos, food hamburgers, hot dogs,
mini iced cokes etc....or take that money you would spend on the party and take her on a trip with you and do spa treatments or make it a family trip....good luck
