What do you think of obama's military spending cuts?

causing troops in Afghanistan not to get a hot breakfast while he gives jets and tanks to our enemies in Egypt and continues giving benefits to illegal aliens and their children through his executive order "dream act."

Update:

For those of you blaming the Republicans:

President Obama announced a new military strategy that will cut the Pentagon budget by hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade. Speaking from the Pentagon, Obama said the plan is "smart, strategic" and sets priorities. "I just want to say that this effort reflects the guidance I gave throughout this process," Obama said. "Yes, the tide of war is receding. But the question that this strategy answers is what kind of military will we need after the long wars of the last decade are over. And today, we're moving forward, from a position of strength." The new military strategy includes $487 billion in cuts over the next decade. An additional $500 billion in cuts could be coming if Congress follows through on plans for deeper reductions. The announcement comes weeks after the U.S. officially ended the Iraq War and after a decade of increased defense spending in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks

If he becomes much more monarchial and radical, I hope the military turns on him and picks a new President themselves.

Obama hasn't made any spending cuts in the military. The Republicans are the ones screaming for spending cuts.

The current reduction in force was made law by a Republican congress and signed by a Republican president in 2007. The reduction in spending which may occur is because the Tea Party extremists refused to make budget cuts a couple of years ago.

If you watch the news, Republicans are calling for a path to citizenship very similar to the Dream Act. The House is a majority Republican and no law can be made without their voting for it.

You can twist facts but you can't change them.

Your scenario "of causing troops in Afghanistan not to get a hot breakfast while he gives jets and tanks to our enemies in Egypt and continues giving benefits to illegal aliens and their children through his executive order "dream act." is just an excuse for politico trolling.

Point 1:- while some uS troops missed a hot breakfast it not the rule in general.

Point 2: Egypt is buying surplus airplanes and tanks they are not a freebie.

Point 3: Illegal Aliens have nothing to do with the category of Military.

    So reported for Trolling.

If we are going to cut down our military (something I agree with if done correctly) then I believe that at the same time we need to be cutting out foreign aid. Especially to countries that may not be friendly to our goals and doubly so with with military aid.

"Spending Cuts" aren't necessarily bad - but the specific parts that they cut from can be a real pain in the ***.

Who told you Egypt is our enemy? Just because our cultures have disagreements doesn't mean we're enemies... do you think that we share 100% common ground with everyone else in NATO?

  • Gee, and here I thought that Congress approved all spending bills. Silly me.

We have to live with it because as much as it stinks- he is the President, and we don't do military coups here.
