Your property's in hardiness zone 6. Seed catalogs and seed packets will usually state the ideal planting times. Spring crops (peas, lettuce, potatoes, onions, beets, cole crops) can be planted at soon as the soil can be worked, usually late March. Summer crops, such as tomatoes, corn, peppers, and cucurbits, must wait until the soil warms and all chance of frost is over, the end of April or early May. The link below has all this, but keep in mind that these dates are approximate and average, so err on the side of caution...

nicely deer will consume almost something. yet in our final abode which replaced into fairly wooded area oriented we discovered they does not consume ornatmental grasses. so as that's what we centred on. We had herds coming by our sources there and that they ate each and every little thing. different than decorative grasses.. We tried maximum of alternative issues and in simple terms gave up. Even lipriope. They desperate to consume that as nicely and we've been informed they did no longer. Frankly a hungry deer will consume maximum something. yet as much as I want they might consume the ornamentals to decrease them down they gained't so plant grasses.
