What were your parents going to name you?
I tried to ask this yesterday but it never appeared. :/
My parents were going to name me Hannah but since my sister was dyslexic they were afraid that I would be too and they wouldn't know because my name would be the same front and backwards. So I got named a family name, Emily :)
What were you going to be named?

My mum and dad always wanted my name, they never even discussed another one. However, I was the first girl (on my dads side) in the family for over a hundred years and everyone was super shocked i wasn't a boy, my parents didn't think they'd get another girl so they made my middle name Emily. When my SISTER was born two years later she got the name Charlotte, although mum wishes she was called Emily now, lol. Three years later I got another sister hahahahaha. We broke the all boys trend in a big way.

I was supposed to be born July 4, so my mom had her heart set on naming me Liberty Bell or a variation of that (Libertybell Justice). No. I'm not kidding. However, I was born on June 20, so she had to come up with a new name. Some of her choices were Mya, Calypso, Cleo, Marina, Finley, Calliope, and Justice. She had a TON of names she wanted to use on me, but my grandparents were like "NO."
If I had been a boy, my name would have been Justice.

My parents considered quite a few girls names. They thought about Holly because I was due in December. They also considered Claudia, Jade & Amy.
For a boy they thought about William after my dad.
In the end I ended up as a Rachel

I was meant to be Morgan because my mom wanted a gender friendly name (meaning no matter what I was, boy or girl, they could still use the name) plus it was her maiden name. But they also thought I'd be a boy. Then I was a girl and my mom realized she could use an actual girls name. So I got Allegra, middle name Morgan.

My parents wanted to name me Angela or Nancy. But no, they had to choose an unusual name for me that people don't know how to understand. Just great.
And my brother got a normal name.

My parents couldn't decide on whether to name me Erin or Caitlin, but when i was born they just knew that i was a Caitlin.
If i'd been a boy, my dad would've named me Cayden or Brayden and my mum would've named me Ciaran. I'm glad i'm a girl, because i don't like my dad's choice of names.

My parents were going to name me Emily or Jade Emily, after my paternal grandmother. Eventually they decided on Jade by itself, because they didn't want me to have a middle name. If I was male, I would have been called Eric, after my dad's favourite football player Eric Cantona.

My parents said I was almost named Melissa but I got named Amanda instead. I can't imagine myself as a Melissa at all, even though its a pretty name

Jasmyn. My name is Eryn and I have sisters with the 'y' in too, my mum wanted it. I love the ability to have nicknames so I would've liked Jasmyn for the nickname Jas but I don't like the spelling.
