Is it okay to eat avocados if you're trying to lose weight?

I've been reading about how there are so many health benefits to avocados and are great if you're trying to lose weight. But I also understand that they are very high in calories and "healthy" fat? How can something be high in calories but also good if you wanna lose weight? (Cuz in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume).

So someone please clarify! Is it really okay to eat avocados while trying to lose weight? Thanks!

Of course u can because the amount of healthy fat in avocadoes is not that high to cause significant weight gain like the saturated fat found in most animal meats. Also, the good fat will eventually be utilized also to maintain normal body function thus reducing calories. When u exeecise, this fat is further got burned too, so all in all u will still burn more calories than u store. Unless u compete in eating avocadoes contest :D

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHMX5

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

It's not ideal to make the exact same sandwiches, but you could be doing a lot worse. And if you're getting nutrient variety from your other meals, then you're fine. Is the bread whole grain? If not, switch up, hon, because you miss out on the nutrients and fiber that are stripped out in processing. First ingredient on the back of that bread should say "Whole grain _____" (wheat, or rye, or whatever the main grain is). Fiber is a magical weight loss tool that not only helps you feel full, but actually sweeps out a few calories (7 calories per gram of fiber) before you even absorb them. (Google "fiber flush effect" to learn more about this.) Protein is another great "fullness" tool to help you keep hunger in check when trying to lose weight. Turkey or chicken should be your first choice for meat. Some occasional roast beef is no big deal, once or twice a week - but turkey and chicken have iron, too, and are leaner. I like some reduced-fat or fat-free cheese sometimes for variety. Punch up the nutrients in your other meals by eating as much as you like of apples, bananas, beans, bell peppers (especially orange ones), berries (like cherries, açaí, or blueberries, fresh or frozen), broccoli, cinnamon, garlic, kiwi, oats/oatmeal, onions, oranges, pomegranates, pumpkin, soy, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes. Berries are not only high in antioxidants, but fiber as well. Some other nutritional power foods you can enjoy in moderation: avocado, dark chocolate, dried berries or apricots or figs, eggs, extra virgin olive oil, honey, low-fat or fat-free yogurt, turkey, peanuts or walnuts, wild salmon. With these, just be conscious of the amount of fats or sugars. Another thing you can do with those sandwiches is to switch the filling from time to time - use cucumber, bell peppers, egg salad (with reduced fat or fat free mayo). Scramble an egg or two and serve it on toast - if you want to reduce the fat in the egg, just do all whites (though you lose most of the vitamins that way), or do one whole egg and two whites, the way I like. Eggs are the highest quality protein you can eat. Grate some carrot, onion, celery, squash or pretty much any veg into your scramble - deee-lish, and very healthful, provided you use cooking spray instead of oil, or else use a drizzle of olive oil and get rid of a yolk.

I eat avocados on a regular basis and have lost 62 pounds. The amount of calories in a single food does not matter. Overall calories does. They are high in fat but fat is good for you. Your body needs it to function. Fat also keeps you full.
