Should the majority of Americans surrender to their rich overlords, or should we assert our rights?
The top quintile owns 93% of the wealth and receives 55% of the income. But its not enough. They work together to fight the people and the government they elect to demand even MORE of the wealth and even MORE of the income!
The worker's share of the national income has dropped like a stone for 30 years now and its only getting worse. And the owner class only wants MORE.
Do we surrender? Do we work for whatever compensation they deem fit to pay us so that they gobble up an ever large share of the national income? Do we forgo any and all government assistance so that they are free from paying taxes?
Or do we fight back and say that the collective productive efforts and the collective wealth of OUR COUNTRY do not belong just to the top 20%?
Why?

There's 2 points I would like to bring up to answer your question:
Number 1: If the wealth gets spread out no one is better off. Having a large middle class completely kills productivity. It's important to remember that the 20% you are talking about is constantly being taxed and ends up having a very large portion of their wealth spread out amongst the municipal employees (government workers). What this means is that no one can get ahead which kills incentive to work and therefore the economy will go belly up stagnant.
Number 2: when the founding fathers came up with the idea of equal opportunity, they meant that everyone would have the same shot at a good life. This means that everyone starts from nothing, is given nothing and that no one deserves anything.

Anyone can work to achieve the goal of becoming wealthy.
No one owes the poor anything extra but a chance to work for a better life.
Most (not all of the poor) stay that way because they can not handle money, give it to those who claim a right to it, and seem to have failed basic math in school and will always be in the red in financial issues.
Every country in the world has always had the richer class and the poorer class, you just want to take what they have earned and then complain when the next group tries to take it away from you.
Learn to play the game and get ahead.

I can't help but chuckle at how pathetically ignorant you are. I grew up in a family with 8 kids, one working parent. We were well below the poverty line, yet somehow I managed to make a career for myself that puts me well within your hated "top quintile", yet it really doesn't matter.
I really feel bad for people like you that can't look past how much money somebody has. It seems like all you can do is covet what others are and what they have. Let me share one tiny bit of knowledge with you. You will never be happy if what you are focused on is what the guy above you has.

How about this. You get up off the couch and get a job, work hard and earn some money. That is how those evil rick people did it.
Or you can just take the short route. Take the bus over to the rich side of town and rob a few people....it's basically doing the same thing as you propose.

I think the rich should give up 95% of their wealth and the rest of us get a check from the government. Oh wait a minute...basic mathematics say that won't work.
Go get a job.

Smart worker bees are a threat.
Dumb worker bees aren't a threat, but aren't safe either.
The "merit system" is shot through by the lawless ones, who supposedly aren't breaking any laws or religion or ethics.
Meritocracy really doesn't exist.
Slavery (wage-slavery) and crony-capitalism don't make for real prosperity.
We need to get back to a functioning society with real prosperity.

You should appreciate Freedom to achieve, which is rapidly becoming a thing of the plast. Your messiah will make sure you never amount to anything. If that's what you are content with, that's pathetic.
