Can someone explain the Canada Goose Arctic Program logo?

No matter how much I look at it, I cannot figure it out. It is not a map of Canada. I don't think it looks like the Arctic Ocean shoreline. It sort of resembles a map of Australia, but not perfectly, and that makes no sense anyway.

Well I just spent a few minutes studying the patch on my Snow Mantra parka.

And to me, it looks like a stylized representation of the arctic.

Considering the fact the shape changes annually, I would assume that's the shape it was at the time the logo design was conceived.

It s the Arctic Ocean. The three light blue splotches at the top are Russian Arctic islands and the other one is Svalbard. The red star is the north pole.
