Can you help me with an algebra question?

From the square of -5x take away the square of -3x

    The square of -5x is (-5x)² = 25x² and

    the square of -3x is (-3x)² = 9x².

    Take away (-3x)² from (-5x)² and you have

    (-5x)² - (-3x)²

    = 25x² - 9x²

    = 16x²
