GoPro Hero 2 Stops Recording?
So a couple weeks ago I went skiing with my gopro, and started recording. After about 7 seconds the video stops recording. I press the record button again, and the same thing happens. After the 3rd time, the camera worked fine, and i recorded 10 minute clips the whole day. Yesterday morning I was going to take my gopro on the mountain, but i tested it out in the morning, and the same thing happened. But this time after the video stopped recording, it said "slow speed card." I have a sandisk ultra 16gb 30MB/s class 6 memory card. the night before I also updated my camera using cineform studio. So what's wrong? Thanks.
Also, today I recorded some 1 minute clips and no problem at all. Maybe I have wait a while or record a few bad clips after the cineform update?

What SD card is recommended for that camera? For DSLR video a class 10 card is recommended.
Also you may want to reformat the card after each time it's used.

I'd be suspicious of the card being counterfeit, at least if you have reported it accurately. 30MB/s is a class 10 card and is well over the 10 MB/s minimum for a class 10. If it says class 6, it would be closer to 6 mb/s, which is still within the specks of GoPro for the H2 series.
In general, a higher speed card does help, and Sandisk is a brand recognized as working well in a GoPro. If this was an E-Bay, or discount purchased card, a deal too good to be true...it likely was counterfeit. Very common.
As others have said, re-format before each use, and promptly download your video. If it continues, get a different card from a trusted source.

Fact is you should re-format the card after every upload and you should upload at the end of every shooting day. If it's not a class 10, get one. If it is follow these instructions and don't store files on an SD HC card because this can cause them to fail.
