Anxiety problem when eating?

For years now I've been plaqued by irrational anxiety attacks brought on by eating in public and around unfamiliar people. I want to work through it without medication but where do i start.

i know what you mean, i used to be like that too.

is it the number of people around, are you afraid they are watching what your eating, is it the germs that spread between people in a group?

if you think about what really triggers your anxiety of in that situation then you can work on it.

if you dont like the noises around you of too many unfamiliar people, go into a friendly pub restaurant where there arnt lots of people there with someone you trust who knows your suffering from this anxiety. unlike mc Donalds in a busy city for lunch i just cant do!

i coudlnt even go out in public and eat, but i can now, its just small baby steps. like.... a small cafe, to a pub, to a resturant on friday evening (not drinking but for a meal) and then eventually you'll get to mc donalds at lunch time in a very busy city, its mad! i know but you get there eventually, dont throw yourself into the deep end because you'll only fester from that and get worse.
