How to get to the dc convention center from shady grove metro?

I'm trying to go to the auto show on Wednesday how to I get to mt vernon sq (convention center) from the shady grove metro center its the red line

    It will be easy. Get on the Red line at Shady Grove and take it to Gallery Place. At Gallery Place, transfer to the Yellow or the Green line, and go one station to Mt. Vernon Square.

    If you don't mind a 10 minute walk, you could also easily walk from Gallery Place to Mt. Vernon Square (I've done it, and it's a nice walk).

  • Take the Red Line from Shady Grove to Gallery Place/Chinatown. Transfer to the Yellow/Green Line towards Mount Vernon/Fort Totten/Greenbelt and ride it one stop to the Mount Vernon Square station. You can also walk from the Gallery Place/Chinatown stop to the Convention Center if you use the H & 7th Street Metro exit. It's not a long walk (but keep in mind, I live in DC and am used to walking).
