How to make a pendulum?!?
So I dont have alot of money for valentines day.. my boyfriend is really into wiccan stuff.. I was wondering how I would go about making my own pendulum to give him for valentines day.. I know it's not hard, I just need some tips on how to make it look nice, and how much it will cost. Thanks (:

Pendulums are not from or really part of Wicca. They are allowed.... but then so is knitting, but that doesn't mean knitting needles are a Wiccan gift.
Wiccans would never use the term "Wiccan stuff" just so you know... Wicca is a religion, the only relevant "stuff" is our relationship with our Gods and how we live our lives.
So if it's your boyfriend's actual religion, I would say you may be making a mistake with this gift. Do you even know if he believes pendulums do anything but obey the laws of gravity and inertia? Because being Wiccan does not mean you have to believe that swinging something on a string has any cosmic meaning.
If however your boyfriend's idea of Wicca is any New Agey or Magicky-like thing, he might like it. Not really anything to do with Wicca though.
A pendulum is a weight on a string or chain so it would have to be balanced. I suppose you could find a little terminated crystal or a small charm of some sort and hot glue a piece of string.
You could probably find cheap crystals at the mall or museum. You can probably find cheap charms at the thrift store-- you can probably get a chain there, too, if you want. It would be nicer than a string.
If you want, go to a craft shop and go to the jewelry making section and get one of those loop things used to make necklaces. They are less than a couple of bucks, you can glue it on a crystal so it gives you something to thread a string or chain through and you can hang it from there.

At http://www.wicca-spirituality.com/pendulum.html there's a simple, clear description. With a note that you can buy one, repurpose a necklace, ...
At http://metapot.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1 there's one as cheap as US$5.
If you can go somewhere (the ground or a store) and pick up a rock or gemstone, and you have the skills to make a cage for it, okay, that would be very personal, and the design would be whatever you want it to be. But if you're that kind of craftsperson, you wouldn't be asking about the cost, would you?
On the other hand, if you're going to have to buy the stone and buy the chain, how is that *making* it to just assemble the two?
So my guess is that you're talking about taking something and making it INTO a Wiccan pendulum: From everything I've ever met, in fiction and non-fiction, the answer is, please don't! The practitioner is the one who needs to do that, not his girlfriend. MAYBE his mentor; maybe.
