Is America's freedom worth it?

America is at a crossroads.

There are those who believe that government should control every facet of our lives. Gun control, increased social services, socialized medicine and the "just pass a law to fix it" mentality are all off-shoots of this philosophy and illness.

Then there are those who believe that somehow America can have a little of this and little of that. That we can pick and choose our "spots" for government control. That somehow we can pass the laws we want and it will all work out in the end... somehow. This reminds me of the scripture that says that you cannot serve two masters, for you will hate one and love the other.

Then there are those who believe in freedom. They understand that freedom is ugly, untidy and often painful. They understand that hundreds of thousands of Americans have died for freedom and for the rights of the individual. They also know that once the erosion of freedom starts, it is almost impossible to stop. And they are willing to fight to the death for it now... for their children... for America.

Where do you stand? Or is your heart and mind so defiled that you can't even take a stand? Freedom isn't free, and it is worth it.

    If you are talking about socialism it can not work

    If guns were ever banned than only the bad guys would have them..Why would anyone think the bad guys would turn theirs in?

    I also feel schools should have guards

    We could use the money we give to countries that hate us,our children are more important!!

    Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..

    ===================================

    Can you ask the bad guy to wait while I call 911???

    ===================================

    Isn't it better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!

    A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."

    Freedom isn't free. I always think of all those who have bled and died for it in wars and even here at home. It IS worth it and we are losing it as our moral compass and belief in God erodes away like dust in the wind. My Dad fought in WW2 and this certainly isn't the country I grew up in anymore.

    Democracy only works when the people are just. I'll tell you what; I'm tired of teetering on the fence. Let's go all in one way or the other and have it done.

    I'm for option #3, by the way. Nevertheless, the church will endure.

    To lose the freedom to threaten or kill is not a bad idea to a non American.

    3. it is well worth it. To take your freedom IS to take your life. That is why I am willing to die for freedom. because if you lose it then you are already dead.
