that is usually happens when you start dating people from internet and I have to say they don't last long both sides got emotional and some other kind of needs that cannot be pleased while chatting and there is also the problem that maybe one side doesn't have enough time to come and chat and stuff so the answer is no (yet it could work if both sides are really desperate and they are trying to get over a dead relationship)

Yep when i was 16 with my second boyfriend, we went to a school dance and i went to his church basketball games and that was it! We had a texting relationship, it was awful. He was nice but i suspected he liked someone else which is why he never seemed to want to hang out with me. I had to ask, and he made up excuses until he basically said he didn't want to. I was dumb so I didn't dump him and eventually the relationship dwindled, we fought a little, and he dumped me. Looking back it was pretty stupid. I dont think a relationship can last without real dates.

Depends on the people, maturity, and different needs that need to be met in that relationship. I've been in an online relationship, it was nice, we'd do little cute things for eachother and work to keep eachother's interest but when we met in person we realized we were too incompatible and had expectations that we couldn't quite meet.
