What are good Bows for beginner Hunters?

Im Just getting into Bow Hunting, but have yet to buy a bow. Im looking for a decent bow for deer which wont break the bank. What are some good brands of Bows for a beginner hunter? I am willing to spend up to 500 Dollars. Also how is draw length and draw weight determined? Thanks

A good bow for a beginner hunter would be the Hoyt Rampage. Its an awesome bow that is great for hunting and great for resale because it has adjustable cams so the hunter doesn't need to buy new cams to adjust the draw length. I would recommend for a begginer to have the bow set at 55 pounds but I know than many hunters (including Ted Nugent) hunt at as low as 45 pounds. I still recommend 55 pounds because it is not that hard to do and is still very effective. I know the Hoyt Rampage works well because I took a 205 pound 7 point buck last fall with mine(its in my profile picture). Bow shops will help situate everything for you such as the draw length and weight when you go in. Good luck!

Bear or Hoyt is really good. They are not necessarily for beginners but they are reliable and will last a life time. I believe they are in your price range. look for around a 60# pull though
