healthy recipes for picky eaters? and not make it look obvious? 5 stars!?

Hi, I need a recipe that looks good and doesnt look like it has a lot of veggies in it?

something like for example a beef burger. I mix in some carrots and onions and a bit tofu in the patty just to have veggies on it but it doesnt look that obvious.

and also if you guys know how to mix vitamins and supplements on food?

thank you!

Update:

also its for my husband! I have asked before and they thought its for kids.

I know (actually, I'm related to) a couple of those. That's what's known as 'Grumpy Old Man Disease" (whether it's a young medium or mature man is irrelevant, as it's universal). They like what they like, even if it's literally killing them..or if they no longer have the teeth to chew whatever it is.

I hear the same from relatives who've been trying to sneak nutritious foods into other foods for a few years now. I don't know the age of this man but if he's anywhere beyond middle age, his taste buds aren't what they were. If he is a smoker, he will have an even more difficult time tasting foods.

You didn't mention what foods he likes, though..and that's important. If he likes grilled steaks, baked potatoes smothered in butter & sour cream and fresh corn on the cob..you're going to have trouble sneaking anything in there. Even my dog knows when I'm trying to sneak a pill into a doggie snausage and manages to eat completely around it. (I'm sure your husband would do the same if there was a large multivitamin hidden inside of a stuffed mushroom). He might get cranky.

In general, chopped veggies could be hidden to some degree inside of meatloaf, inside of a hearty and thick chili con carne, inside of the cooked beef/chicken/pork in tacos, burritos, or enchiladas. Chopped veggies would work in split pea soup (he wouldn't even notice the bits of carrot, potato, onion, etc..in a thick split pea soup with ham cubes). Potato-Leek soup is so good and plenty of veggies can be concealed in there (maybe even vitamins if they're pulverised in the food processor). Black bean soup, broccoli cheddar soup, beef stew, chunky, home-made chicken noodle soup is healthy.

Onion rings are great..but so are other veggies when they are battered and deep fried. Think about battered shrimp..how good that is. You can do the same with broccoli, peppers, carrot, cauliflower, mushrooms..along with shrimp. Fondue is a very easy and delicious way to get a picky person to eat their veggies. No one passes up melted cheese. Having bite-size chunks of chicken, beef..along with veggies for dipping would work. Home-made applesauce can be fortified with pulverised vitamins.

I'm thinking that anything you can prepare in a Crock-pot will be the best way to enrich his food without him knowing. Any thick soup, stew..anything with meat sauce will work. I would concentrate on sauces more than anything. If he likes melted cheese on everything..then he may go for broccoli or cauliflower if it has cheese sauce on it. (Definitely try fondue). The stronger the flavours, the easier it will be to add healthier foods. One could hide almost anything in a thick, cheesy, bubbly lasagna..maybe even a thick mac & cheese. Chinese food (BBQ pork fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, beef & broccoli, sweat & sour shrimp, egg rolls, etc. all have veggies inside and taste great)

A recent article on the Forbes website confirmed what medical experts had been saying all along…

You’re harbouring a dangerous chemical in your home, feeding to yourself and your family on a daily basis, and it’s killing you at a quicker rate than ever before.

It’s killing you in the form of diabetes, heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, and obesity. Yeah, it’s making you and your kids fatter as it’s killing you. And just like a parasite, it sucks out valuable health promoting nutrients from your entire body.

This toxic poison that medical experts worldwide are warning against is now the #1 additive being add to foods by manufactures. In fact, today this toxic ingredient is being eaten 17 times more per day than it was back in the 1922.

What’s worse is that there are two other ingredients sitting in your kitchen right now that are equally as dangerous for you and your family… they’re making you fat and bloated… and they’re destroying your health from the inside out at an alarming rate.

Best of all you’ll discover how to easily rid your house of these evil ingredients that are destroying your health AND how to replace them with nutrient dense alternatives that will give you and your family better health, more energy, and help you easily drop the fat that’s been building up over the years.

  • When you add carots etc to burgers you are basically making meat loaf, so why not just make meat loaf.

Soups- I used to make a totatoe soup with basically what ever odd and end veggies were left in the fridge. Simmer with some stewed tomatoes in chicken broth, then blend. When blending add some cream cheese or even sour cream. And you have a tomatoe veggie bisque. It is not toally smooth but stil tasty.

I don't mean to offend, but I've had plenty of friends with kids tell me that their child won't eat vegis because, "He's a picky eater." And then I see the child eat. And what do they eat? CRAP! Processed crap. Potato chips. Doritos. Donuts. Store bought cookies. They drink sodas and other sugar-filled drinks. And yet, they're picky eaters? Bull. They're spoiled, and they're addicted to the crap that's in those foods.

Let me ask, how often does your husband take a dump? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? We should take a crap about an hour after every time we eat. But, because of the crap that's put into our foods, along with some other environmental issues and lifestyle choices, many of us don't take a dump but once a week. And then it takes an hour sitting on the toilet just to do that!

Is your husband overweight? Chances are, he is. After all, two thirds of the adults in this country are overweight or obese. I even know people who are vegetarians who are overweight. Why? Simply because one chooses to not eat meat does not mean that person is eating healthy, or exercising.

Our country is addicted to wheat products. And, in almost everything is GLUTEN, which is basically fodder. All wheat has some amount of natural gluten. But, the food industry found out that they can add more gluten to food products, which extends the amount of food, therefore they are able to make it cheaper. Corporations don't care about your health. They care about making money.

Sadly enough, there has been a 500 percent increase of 25 intestinal related diseases in the last 50 years, the most damaging being celiac disease. Why in the last 50 years? That's when companies started to make processed foods using gluten.

I doubt your husband is a picky eater. I'm willing to bet he eats plenty of crap food. If you buy the groceries and do the cooking, then buy healthy, cook healthy, and eat healthy. Make him sit at the table until he finishes his vegis. Don't let him watch TV until he finishes his vegis. Tell him his farts stink (They don't need to. It's only because of the crap diet people have that their farts stink.) If he's overweight then tell him you don't find him attractive anymore. Bottom line, by allowing him to eat crap you are increasing his chances of Type A or B diabetes, and increasing his chance of intestinal disease.

Picky eater... posh. I'm a picky eater, as in I won't eat crappy, processed, fodder that corporations insist on shoving down my throat. Educate yourself and then educate him. And if he doesn't want to be educated then slap his hands with a ruler.

Sorry if I come across as a bit strong. I used to live in southern California where the majority of people took care of their bodies. I have since moved to a state that is extremely overweight. I go shopping and I see grotesquely fat people riding around in motorized buggies (because they're too out of shape to walk through a grocery store?) and what do they have in their cart? CRAP. It's disgusting.

Here's to better living through healthy choices.

I know that the grass might not be greener in France. but at least it's a different shade of green.

    Bon Appetit!

Yup I thought it was for kids too & I was gonna ask if you're feeding or they're feeding themselves?? I guess the question could still apply. Sorry your husband is more like a child at the dinner table... My advice, make healthy meals for the whole family, its up to HIM to make the choice of putting it in his mouth, I wouldn't make "special" for someone who is capable of making his own dietary decisions.

Here is a delicious recipe for spinach and ricotta cannelloni. And honestly I always hated spinach, but actually didn't even taste it in this recipe and actually love this and have made it several times.
