How long does it usually take a dog to stop molting.?

It's coming to the end of summer and I have a short coat Shepherd that has been molting for just over a month now. I've never seen so much dog hair come off a short haired. There's 'tumbleweeds' down my hall and verandah every day. She has molted at least 4 times in the past 12 months. Is this usual as well?

Update:

P.S. Beverly Americans say shed and I didn't say she was a shepherd mix.

Shepherds are heavy shedders, but a heavy shed twice a year is the norm. Is this dog getting enough salmon oil in her diet? Getting bathed too often? On a high quality food? Are you getting out all the dead undercoat every time you brush her?

Dogs shed all year long. Being you have a shepherd mix you will have lots of hair. Brush your dog at least once a day and use the correct brush and make sure to get the undercoat.

    P.S. birds molt-dogs shed.

Dogs that stay outside usually develop a winter coat that they blow in the spring. All dog will shed on a regular basis. Brush out your dogs coat 3 to 4 times a week until the shedding is under control.

ya that's normal, dogs like shepherds who are used to weather changing conditions molt. He should stop in a few more weeks, look out for any bald spots though.

i'm no longer an expert yet I actually have a Cavalier King Charles and that i could quite advise to everyone to get one. they're the sweetest angels on earth and are really trouble-free to coach because they're wanting to delight and they are quite intelligent somewhat a lot human like lol :) I stay by potential of myself with him and my cat in an abode and that i artwork 9-6 regularly going on yet stay close sufficient that i'll bypass abode for about 40 5 minutes each day to stroll him. After artwork and on weekends, i'm continuously with him and if i'm no longer with him then my mom is or some different person is. he's my infant :) They do shed a touch yet we groom him ourselves because we are afraid a groomer could smash or cut back his certainly eye-catching lengthy and feathered hair (breed features). So on a daily basis brushing is a ought to and could keep shedding to a minimum. As for the clinical issues or genetic situations, maximum Cavaliers are at danger of get a minimum of actual one of them yet make confident you get one from a respected breeder the position the mother and father were screened and cleared for those situations. We paid $1250 yet some breeders could value more suitable or a lot less. it truly is mere pennies in my opinion because he's helpful to me. he's the only excellent company you are able to ever ask for. They love all of us and each and every thing. Love each person, little ones, cats, different animals. each and every thing! they're only perfect! good success!!!
