Can a dead battery cause damage to the electronic functions in a car?

    No it will not do any damage but they could need resetting if the battery is completely dead .

    Not by itself. Since you seem to be concerned about electronic issues then there may well be other issues that caused the battery to go dead prime examples are: incorrectly jump starting, accidentally hooking up battery backwards or disconnecting a battery in a running car and that caused damage to the alternator and or blew the ignition computer.
