Will I get in trouble if I accidentally used the wrong check from another company's account?
I just started a business with my business partner but we also have a corporation that we work with (which we are both a part of). My business partner and I butt heads on a lot of stuff and he is literally trying to find every excuse to stop working with me and vice versa.
We've been using temporary checks that are completely blank since we just opened the business accounts but the other day I used the corporation check to pay about $3200 in bills for the sole proprietorship.
The head of the corporation called him and told him there were some unexplained checks written out so he called me immediately and told me that (there has only been a few days since the check went through). I immediately reimbursed the amount to the corporation account as I realized I screwed up.
my question is: can I get in legal trouble for this? He and I don't have an official partnership agreement or employment contract with the corporation but we are conducting business on behalf of it.
note: all of the temporary checks I've been using have no name or anything on it. They are just blank checks with the bank name on it (no company name/address etc)

I don't think that there are any legal issues, assuming you have put the funds into the proper accounts. The bigger question is whether your business partner will accept your mistake.
