Is a Taser considered a gun or an electronic weapon?

Ok here's the question. Is a Taser considered a gun or an electronic weapon? And what does the ATFE or Federal law say about a Taser, is it a gun or electronic weapon? The Taser uses a compressed air charge to fire the barbs, so is it considered a gun? To me a gun is a weapon that fires a bullet using black powder. And if it is not considered a gun can you take in to an Establishment thought there is a sign saying no guns allowed? What is your take on this. Just curious.

A gun is defined as a weapon that launches one projectile or more at high velocity through the confined burning of a propellant.

So no a taser is not a gun.

i believe it's considered a weapon that can cause serious bodily injury tho isn't intended to cause death. usually those signs that say no guns allowed also say weapons of any kind. so you would not be allowed to take the taser to those establishments.

Only in the UK are tasers legally considered guns.
