  • Deposited wrong stimulus check into my account, what happens now?

    Yesterday 23, April  2020

I unknowingly took my girlfriend's stimulus check as live together and had the checks sitting together. I signed my name and put my account # and deposited her check through my ATM, which supprisingly didn't notice the name on the check didn't match the endorsed name.

We didn't realize this till today when we went to deposit what we thought was hers and the teller at the drive up said the name on the check doesn't match her accoun since its my check.  I called my bank and they said the check had already posted and there was nothing she could do. She said the error might be noticed and sent back to me, but if not what happens?     I worked at a bank processing center 25 years ago and remeber that there were checks that would be rejected from the scanning machine and had to checked by hand. Do banks still do this? What happens now? Big pain in the ***.

  • Why does the LA Police broadcast over their PA system on their police cars?

I have been watching the tv show LAPD Life on the Beat and noticed that when officers talk on their cars radio it is broadcast over the PA system for all to hear. Why do they do this? Wouldn't you rather not announce that you are right around the corner. Just wondering.

  • Looking for the name of a movie I saw Sunday night on Retro TV as I missed the tile of the movie?

This movie was based in Algiers say 1960' or 1970's and had a Rambo style character who rescued a local from an outpost and was later picked up by the French Army, any clue? He took out the entire outpost of soldiers when he rescued the local, and near the end of the movie had a shoot out with three police in an abandoned building that is all I know. I don't know the name of the actor as I missed this at the end of the film and didn't see the beginning for the tile sorry.

    any clue?

  • Is exhaust coming out of #2 spark plug port bad?

I have a 1993 Ford Escort 160,000 miles and a blown Exhaust manifold gasket and sounds really loud. But I can also see exhaust coming from the #2 spark plug port. Is this from the blown gasket or a whole other problem and is it bad? The car seems to run just fine but is loud. Has anyone else had this before were the exhaust comes the the spark plug ports?

  • How were wagon wheels made?

Ok I know this sounds dumb but how were wagon wheels made? Were different size trees cut down to make the different size wheels? How was the wood bent or warped to make the wheel? If there is a web site could you post it. Thanks

  • How far up the Mekong River or other rivers during the Vietnam War did PACVs (patrol air cushions) travel?

During the Vietnam War the United States used PACV's (Patrol Air Cushion Vehicle's) to patrol the rivers of South Vietnam. Did these PACV's go into Laos or Cambodia using the Mekong River or what was the operation range of these vehicles? Did these see lots of combat while patrolling the rivers and were these ever used for Search and Rescues of downed US pilots? Did these also Patrol along the Beaches of South Vietnam besides the rivers?

Also did the North have any PACV's and if so did they ever see combat with United States PACV's?

  • Does the LA County or LA City Fire Department still use Open Cab Fire Engines as seen on Emergency?

Does the LA Fire department still use open cab Fire Engines as the one seen on the TV Show EMERGENCY? If so why? Is there something better about an open cab Engine compared to a closed cab engine? If the City and County don't use open cabs when did they stop using them? I thought that during the LA riots of 1992 I saw some open cab engines fighting fires in Hampton in pictures and on TV. Was I seeing things or am I right?

  • What yield Nuclear or Atomic explosion would leave a Crater 1,352.56 Feet across?

I this may sound small compared to Castle Bravo in the Pacific but at the Nevada Proving Range there is a Crater that is 1,352.36 feet in diameter. My question is what yield explosion would have left a crater that big?! It must have been just under a megaton for an underground test. Any ideas? If you look it up on Google Earth, Ace mapper or Bing Maps and put in this coordinates 371035.84 -116.02 you can see the crater which is the biggest of all the other craters in the test range. If you zoom out you can see the entire test range for underground devices.

And for those UFO conspiracy believers out there go 13.2 miles at a heading of 72.59 and there is Area 51. Have fun.

  • Why do Police Helicopter Pilots carry a Firearm?

Why do Police Helicopter Pilots carry a firearm? Is for that slim chance that they will have to land and possibly apprehend a suspect or is standard issue?

  • Is a Taser considered a gun or an electronic weapon?

Ok here's the question. Is a Taser considered a gun or an electronic weapon? And what does the ATFE or Federal law say about a Taser, is it a gun or electronic weapon? The Taser uses a compressed air charge to fire the barbs, so is it considered a gun? To me a gun is a weapon that fires a bullet using black powder. And if it is not considered a gun can you take in to an Establishment thought there is a sign saying no guns allowed? What is your take on this. Just curious.

  • During the 1995 Rugby World cup did a Boeing 747 buzz the stadium?

Watched the movie Invictus and there is a scene at the Rugby World Cup were a SAA Boeing 747 buzzes the Stadium. Did this really happen and if so what happened to the Pilot that pulled this stunt? Was he grounded and charged and given jail time? What do you think would happen today if a pilot tried that type of stunt?

  • During the Korean and Vietnam wars did the North use Aircraft to attack US and UN troops?

Ok here is my question. During the Korean War 1950-1053 did the North Koreans or Chinese attack US and UN troops with Bombers or ground attack aircraft? I know we bombed the hell out of North Korea with Boeing B-29s. Are there any reports of the North Koreans or Chinese doing the same? I know that the North Koreans must have had some type of Medium Bomber and attack aircraft at that time.

And in the Vietnam War 1962-1975 did the North Vietanmese use bombers or attack aircraft or even helicopters to the extent of that the US used, to attack US troops? I know that North Vietnam had Medium Bombers and attack aircraft.

If neither nattion used these aircraft was there a reason why they didn't?

  • Do Helicopters have heated cabins?

I know this sounds like an odd question but are the cabins of helicopters heated and if so how? Is the heat produced by the Turbine engine or by the radiator like in a car? And as for the CH-47 Chinook Helicopter does it have a heated cabin since the back end is open to the elements, or is there a provision for a cargo door?

  • Would driving 75mph or faster be bad for a 1990 Toyota Corolla with 280,000 miles on it?

About three times a year my girlfriend and me go up to her parents house about 45 miles away and sometimes take the Freeway were the speed is posted at 75mph. I was wondering if it is wise or not wise to go 75mph with a 1990 Toyota Corolla with 280,000 original miles and engine? I usually go 65mph in the far right lane as there are 3 lanes on this stretch of freeway. What is you opinion.

  • How do you introduce a new cat to a 12 year old cat in a one bedroom apartment?

We (me and my Girlfriend) had a cat that just passed away last week that we had for 5 years. Next year we plan on adopting another cat. We already have a 12 year old cali and she has been in our 1 bedroom apartment for 12 years. How do we introduce another cat to her when we have only a Bedroom, small bathroom, decent size living room and fair side kitchen? Our cali has not been an only cat. We adopted her in 2001 with another cat that died in 2005. So she has had other cats around but we just want to know how to introduce another cat to make it easier for all of us. Thanks

  • for those who have lost a pet how did it affect your relationship with your girlfriend or wife?

Last week one of our 2 cats died of Kidney Failure at 17 years old. This cat came to us as a stray and was a great part of our life for 5 years. It has only been a week and both my girlfriend of 17 years and I are arguing and not talking to each other as often as when he was around. For those of you that have lost a pet how did it affect your relationship and what did you do to over come the arguing and not talking to each other? How long did you wait to get a another cat or dog or bird, etc?

  • Two questions in one, Is it ok to ask were your previous vet is and has anyone had a vet practice just upn go?

Is it ok to ask what may have happened to the previous vet you had when you take your pet/s to the vet. I asked once but didn't the second time and am curios as to where this vet went she was nice and knew what she was doing when our cat had vertigo. It just seems like it is improper to ask the new vet where the other vet went.

Also has anyone had a vet that just closed their practice and didn't write to say that they were closing so that you could get your files on your animals? This happened to me after one of our cats passed away 7 years ago. Shortly after her passing we went to go see if we could get the file on that cat and our other cat and noticed that the clinic was no longer there and a new buisness was in his place. We were never notified by phone or even sent a letter saying that he was closing his practice. We think that the city was investigating him for mal practice but have know idea what happened. Has this happened to you? Let me know thanks.

  • my cat gets up to walk and then sits down after walking 3 feet like he is dizzy or something?

Last week yesterday my cat came out of the bedroom and stopped and held his head down. Ever time he tried to lift it he would bob it up and down. We took him to the Vet that night and the vet on call thought he was having an episode of Vertigo. On Tuesday he couldn't even walk straight and wobbled and would then lay down. By Friday he seemed better and back to his normal self. Now this morning 11, September 2012 my girlfriend picked him up and put him on the bed and he laied down right away instead of walking over to me. He looked like he was dizzy. Now he is acting the same as last week. He gets up tries to walk and then lays down after about a 1 foot or so like he is dizzy. He is around 9-12 years old as he came to us as a stray so we don't know his real age. Any ideas of what might be happening and has anyone else had this happen to their cat? What did the vet say it might be. I hope to get him to the vet next Monday as it went away last week and I don't have enough to take him in this week.

Also his eyes are bright and the pupils nice and black not grey or other colors. His fur is soft and he weighs around 10lbs. He eats alot but hasn't this morning because he can't sit up. Any Ideas Thanks
