If Iverson and the Sixers beat the Lakers in 2001 Finals, would he have been the Kobe of our era?

Remember in 2001, Iverson lead a star-depleted Sixers team to a 56-26 record. He avg. 31.1 ppg that season. Was awarded the MVP award.

He showed his playoff grit by beating the Raptors in 7 games and then proceeding to beat the Bucks in 7 games. Then faced the Lakers in the finals, a team that hasn't even lost a single game in the playoffs and scored 48 points in the game 1 win.

If the Sixers ended up winning the Championship, would Iverson be the Kobe of our era?

Update:

I pose this questions because you kinda look at the careers of both individual. Talent wise, a lot of fans during 2001 believed Iverson and Kobe were on the same page. But its amazing how different their career paths since then have been. You can only wonder how winning a championship there would have drastically changed Iverson's life.

Of course he would have been. Back then every kid idolized Iverson, every kid was wearing Iversons, and he was in the argument for best player in the NBA.

Give him a ring and that mess doesn't go down in Philly, and they build around Iverson as a winner and guys want to come. Maybe Shaq decides to head to Philly after LA and gets A.I another ring.

Yeah because he would have been known as the David to beat the Goliaths. Shaq was pretty much unstoppable then so that's a great achievement if they did. Plus the fact that the Sixers wasn't even one of the top picks to come out of the Eastern Conference back then.

    Hope this helps.
