Western Digital or Seagate?

Which portable hard drive is more reliable? Western Digital or Seagte? I had a Buffalo in the past, it was doing good for 3 years and now it doesn't even load. Looking to buy a trusting brand now!

I have used dozens of both and never had a single seagate fail on me, have had about a half dozen western digital drives fail. If you go SSD, corsair makes excellent, reasonably priced ones.

I just answerd a similar question yesterday (I think) so I still have all my research in my head. WD and Seagate both have a 1 year waranty so no difference there. I've owned both and they've been fine. Buffalo doesn't make HDs, they just buy the HD from someone (WD, Seagate, Hitashi, Samsung, ...) and put it in their case.
