Email account setup question (hotmail)?
I have a hotmail account, let's call it X@hotmail.com.
I also pick up emails for another email address in this account, let's call that address Y@Z.com.
My question is, is it possible to SEND emails from Y@Z.com from the same mailbox or is it best to have a separate mailbox? That'll mean I have to login twice.
I'd rather do this via hotmail.

I don't see any mainstream email provider allowing such functionality. Google (Gmail) allows this for other Gmail accounts (like you can send email from one account as another Gmail account) & it seems Hotmail allows you to link accounts so you can switch back and forth:
https://account.live.com/managelinks.aspx?mkt=en-u... (need to login first to see the page)
But as far as Hotmail allowing messages to be sent from their servers showing an @yahoo.com or @gmail.com account as the sender - that seems like a terrible idea from their end. The only way to do it from a single inbox that I know of would be to set the reply-to field as a response to the non-Hotmail address when composing an email or responding. However, the sender will still show as your Hotmail address & Hotmail sender name.
If you want emails to arrive in one place but want to reply to or send them using various accounts, I'd recommend using an email client like Thunderbird. I used to use Outlook & Outlook express and those worked well for this, too.

Cant you place up a mail account employing you ISP`s cyber web mail facility. From right here you may set up Outlook employing your ISP` POP3 & SMTP incoming & outgoing addressOr why no longer set up a Yahoo account. Its loose & takes a couple of minutes to do

Connect your hotmail to the other account and you should be able to do what you want
