If y=2x-3 and x=-2, what is y?

The question specifically says:

If a trend line had the equation y=2x-3, what y-value would you expect to obtain when x has the following values?

a. -2

It continued to have a b,c, and d, but I do not need help with those. I answered 1 and my math program is telling me the answer is -7. I just want to be sure I am not going crazy before I voice this to my instructor. What would y equal if x is -2?

Update:

Hah. I am going crazy. Thank you!! I squared -2 instead of multiplying it by 2! This is why I asked on here first. Thank you for your quick responses!
