Group of data into percentage for pie charts?
I completely forgot how to do this and when I try to remember and apply the format I THINK I remember in my calculator, it comes out unsatisfactory. Could someone help me? I haven't done this since elementary.
I'm trying to make this group of data into a pie chart:
329, 445
31,098
841
Can someone help me find the percentage. And don't just give me the information, can you explain how to got to that conclusion so that for the next time I do this, I won't have to depend on this site. Please and thank you!

It looks like there are 5 data points.
Find the total: T = 329 + 445 + 31 + 98 + 841 = 1744
Then find the % of each:
A region = 329 = 100 • 329 ⁄ 1744 = 18.9% of the pie
B region = 445 = 100 • 445 ⁄ 1744 = 25.5% of the pie
... and so on for the remaining three data points
all of the regions should add-up to 100%
Edit: as Emily said, sector A or region A will have a central angle of:
18.9% of 360º ... which is: 68 degrees.
... and so on ...

divide your number by 360 (because thats the degrees in a circle) and you should have the degree that you need to put it in a pie chart. (you may want to check this by seeing if it all fits in the pie chart)
If you want to find the percentage just divide it by the number it is out of
