Why are twins so different?

Astrology's original use was to predict the future. It failed. Astrology is a business so now the money making program Plan B is in effect. That being everyone is programed with their personality at birth. No explanations how or tests that will confirm that it is true. Your total belief is required and though you have a question of common sense, you are not supposed to doubt. Because if you find one thing that make no sense, chances are you will find more. Then you might start thinking more and more how worthless it is.

People will say that they have "studied" astrology. Some for many years. Just try to find their results on the web. All that time and nothing to show for it. I know my personality and find it pointless to be told what I already know. Predicting the future would be far more useful. If astrology was some how proved with science, that would mean consistency has been found. That has never been astrology's strong point.

Yes, it's rare but it can happen. There was a well-known case in the news a few years ago about a woman taking fertility treatments. The facility collected her husband's sperm in a container that had been previously used, and had not been properly washed. After the woman was inseminated with her husband's sperm from this container she became pregnant, and found out it was twins. What a shock it was almost 9 months later when one twin was white and the other black. They did DNA tests and found the black twin's father was the husband of a different woman using the same facility for fertility treatments. It was a sad case and there was a custody battle between the two couples, but I can't remember which couple got to keep the baby.

I wondered that quite a lot growing up with my sisters April and Amanda.

April: Is very assertive, out-going, a dare-devil, charming, social, and almost rebellious.

Amanda: Is more reserved, quiet, conservative, and followed the rules.

How could they grow up together, be each others best friends yet be so different? I am sure there a lot of ways to answer this. People are born with their personalities.. Some are molded or modified from and through life experiences... Nature vs. Nurture... But they grew up in the same home, same mother, same situations and yet had distinct different outward personalities from toddlers on up.

(However since you asked this in the Horoscope Section)... I took a look at their charts. They were born 20 minutes apart. Amanda was born first and April 20 minutes later..

Amanda: Virgo Rising. (Analytical, reserved, stand-off-ish,)

April: Libra Rising with Mars in the 1st House. (Libra Rising, very social, charming, likes friends and social events. Mars in the 1st House, asserts their self and personality, an Aries feel)

Both have Capricorn Sun and Pisces Moon and both exhibit the Capricorn and Pisces Moon traits however, in different ways. One is the host of the party, the other sits back and watches everything happening. The Rising is the gate-keeper of the entire chart, saying what comes in or out... Changing the House positions of the planets.. (April having Mars in the 1st House, Amanda having Virgo Rising, so different). Timing in Astrology is everything, timing down to the minute is essential.

Twins are not born at the same time. Twins can be and sometimes are born hours apart. They can and are sometimes born minutes apart, but sometimes minutes can make a big difference in a chart. Identical twins have the same DNA. Fraternal twins do not. Fraternal twins can be opposite genders. So this idea that somehow twins either prove or disprove astrology is spurious. There are too many variables to make a general statement about "twins."

'according to astrology'. People are just different, some twins are the same and some aren't. even if it was astrology that definately determined the way you are they were not born at exactly the same time, one is born then the other comes out after it, minuits and seconds make differences in astrolody, like when they ask you what hour and minuit you were born. there are also different sides to zodiac signs, e.g aquarius- you get the shy type and out going type.

They are still individuals, not cloned from brain to lung just because there twins.

The birth chart is only an influence.

And not as big an influence as genetics.

Upbringing and life experiences are big influences, too.

Astrologers say, "The stars impel. They do not compel." Meaning that they are an influence. And the more you live your life with self-awareness and self-choice, the less of an influence your chart has on you. I have found that the people most LIKE their chart are those who live their life sort of on auto-pilot .. rather the way my dog does .. just knee-jerk reacting to everything that happens.

Therefore, the birth chart is not best-used to try to tell you who you are. It is better-used as a source of questions you can ask about yourself, questions to guide your inward looking and learning. A way of examining your inner needs.

Because the chart talks about inner needs .. not about outer behaviors or choices for our behaviors.

If you look into studies of twins who were separated at birth, it is stunning how similar they are... by not growing up next to each other, they did not try so hard to be different.

that depends on the friends they have, or how they were raised, biggest example, Bill and Tom Kaulitz, they're twins, expect that tom is older than bill in 10 minutes, anyways, they're absolutely different because they like different colours, clothes, music genres..etc, they will have stuff in common, but they're just little stuff :)
